★ Backstory:
Sae-Ryun's parents are both Korean, however he was born in Tokyo, Japan. His father is renown music composer, and his mother a famous and talented violinist. His family was very music-oriented, his grandfather was a pianist and his grandmother a cellist, and so on. Sae-Ryun's talents were predetermined, he would be a talented musician. Like his grandfather, he began piano lessons at a young age. Undoubtedly, he had a natural gift for the keys and adopted the notes quickly at his age. His father was often away on business, and his mother at concerts, so Sae-Ryun spent a lot of time with his grandparents who nurtured his gift like they did their own child. By the time he reached middle school, he was a master in his own right. He could play the most complex songs with ease, with his eyes clothes, or with one hand. He was a true prodigy, as expected.

He was also interested in video games, however. Sae-Ryun's parents weren't aware of his piano practices becoming less and less. He began playing MOBA games, as he played more and more he reached the highest ranks in the system. Deciding to take his hobby further, he entered a tournament. To his surprise, he won his qualifying match and was scheduled for a trip to New York to compete. His parents were bothered by the aspect of their son playing these games, but allowed him to go on the trip to take a break from his supposed hard piano training.

Sae-Ryun arrived in New York absolutely beaming. He attended the tournament with his team; excited and ready for their match. By the end of it, they finished fourth place. It was a good ranking for a new team, especially. He then flew home to return to his studies. Sae-Ryun played for two more years, his piano becoming dusty without play. He attended tournaments all over the world, his team slowly becoming renown for their skill. The day then, finally came for the National Tournament. His team qualified to represent their country; everything had been going according to plan. He studied the teams' strategy, their players, their characters; everything about them. Sae-Ryun's team were in the finals, competing against the best of the best for first place. Although they had lost, second place was a great placing for his team and he was ecstatic to celebrate.

However, Sae-Ryun had gotten a call after the final match; it was apparently important.

His grandfather has a heart attack, he was in hospital.

Sae-Ryun rushed back to his home country. His grandfather was the only one who had stood up for his professional gaming career. The only person who told him to do what he wanted to do with his life. He got to the hospital, but it was too late. His beloved grandfather passed away, and his last words were:

"Just once before I died.. I wanted to play with Sae-Ryun."

He was heartbroken. He could not look at another video game the same way he did before. Sae-Ryun sold all his equipment, deleted his accounts and subscriptions. These blasted things prevented him from fulfilling his grandfather's dream. His mother prepared him an enrollment to Hoshino Gakuen, to set his life back on track.
